May 28th is National Burger Day and who doesn’t love a good burger. We all love the juicy, succulent taste of a deliciously grilled hamburger but not necessarily the extra calories that come with it. Summertime is a great motivator to start working out. With bright, sunny skies it can make working out outside an enjoyable task. I know we all lead busy lives and it can be hard to fit working out into our already tight schedules, but that doesn’t mean you still can’t burn those extra calories. Eating healthy is a great way to keep off those extra pounds if you don’t have time to hit the gym everyday. People have this idea that eating healthy is boring because there aren’t a lot of options but that’s not the case. There are a variety of recipes you can choose from that are as equally delicious and healthy! I have listed a few of my favorite healthy snacks that’ll hopefully inspire you to eat healthy or come up with some of your own ideas!

Hello Friends!! I recently visited my local Farmer’s Market and was astounded by the variety of local produce that was available. Farmer’s Markets are a wonderful, local resource for you to obtain fresh fruits and vegetables. There are a number of Farmer’s Markets that are in the Austin area so visit one today and check out some of the produce that is available to you! I have provided a list of some of the locations of the local Farmer’s Markets as well as a list of fresh fruits and vegetables that are in season for the summer. Feel free to try them all! Shake-Shack-Austin1

The first ever Austin Shake Shack is located on South Lamar and Treadwell. It’s menu features classic favorites such as burgers, hot dogs, fries, and frozen custard. For all of our adults out there, their menu also includes beer and wine and is even four-legged friendly including some treats for our sweet pups. They didn’t forget about the unique flair of Austin and their menu includes ingredients from some local eateries such as Kreuz Market, Kiskadee, Uchi, and Uchiko. Take that cheat day and go enjoy some food from this new restaurant, it is sure to become a new local favorite!
