May 28th is National Burger Day and who doesn’t love a good burger. We all love the juicy, succulent taste of a deliciously grilled hamburger but not necessarily the extra calories that come with it. Here I want to share with you a list of some delicious healthy substitutes for that good old-fashioned burger we all know and love. So the next time you go to fire up that grill, try out some of these recipes!

Happy eating my friends and happy national burger day!

The greatest compliment I can receive is a review from a satisfied client. It was a joy to work with this family and I am so happy I was able to help them build their dream home! I wish them luck and much happiness in the future.

Review:

“Great Job Mrs. Kathy. I just closed on a house my wife and i had built from the ground up. It was very grueling process and she was there ever step of the way. She helped us find a location pick the type of house and even went with us to the design center to help pick out everything. She was very helpful especially since it was our first rodeo. I recommend her if your looking for a professional real estate agent with many years of experience. My wife and I love our new home and we are thankful for her in helping us into our dream home.”

We Survived!

flood 1 flood 2 flood 3

This past weekend Austin experienced one wild storm. Four inches of rain fell on Monday near Central Austin and businesses along Lamar had to shut down for a couple of days while they dealt with the flooding inside their establishments. Since the beginning of the year, Lake Travis has rises over 32 inches and is expected to continue to rise over the next couple of weeks. Living in Texas, I am used to all of the crazy weather patterns but this weekend by far was one of the craziest I have experienced in a while. Praying that everyone and their homes are safe and sound. Stay safe and dry everyone! Your Realtor and Friend For Life, Kathy!

Happy Memorial Weekend Everyone!! I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend celebrating with friends and family. I wanted to take a moment to remember all of those brave men and women who valiantly fought for our freedom and for those who continue to do so today. Without them it would not be possible for us to lead the lives that we do. They’re courage and commitment to our country is what makes them truly heroes. Thank you to all in the armed services who so selfishly give up their lives so we can live ours!

Have a wonderful holiday everyone!

Summertime is a great motivator to start working out. With bright, sunny skies it can make working out outside an enjoyable task. I know we all lead busy lives and it can be hard to fit working out into our already tight schedules, but that doesn’t mean you still can’t burn those extra calories. Eating healthy is a great way to keep off those extra pounds if you don’t have time to hit the gym everyday. People have this idea that eating healthy is boring because there aren’t a lot of options but that’s not the case. There are a variety of recipes you can choose from that are as equally delicious and healthy! I have listed a few of my favorite healthy snacks that’ll hopefully inspire you to eat healthy or come up with some of your own ideas!

Happy munching Friends!

My Favorite Healthy Snacks

1. Granola, Peanut Butter, and Apple Sandwiches

2. Avocado Toast with a Sunny-Side Up Egg

3. Yogurt-Covered Fruit Bites

4. Trail Mix

5. Baked Apple Chips

Shake-Shack-Austin1

The first ever Austin Shake Shack is located on South Lamar and Treadwell. It’s menu features classic favorites such as burgers, hot dogs, fries, and frozen custard. For all of our adults out there, their menu also includes beer and wine and is even four-legged friendly including some treats for our sweet pups. They didn’t forget about the unique flair of Austin and their menu includes ingredients from some local eateries such as Kreuz Market, Kiskadee, Uchi, and Uchiko. Take that cheat day and go enjoy some food from this new restaurant, it is sure to become a new local favorite!

I recently received a picture from a friend of mine of an old man riding around Austin on a bike wearing nothing but his underwear! It was a funny sight to see to say the least and it got me thinking about Austin’s slogan “Keep Austin Weird”. Austin is known for preserving its quirkiness and the people that live here are very proud of the culture; some even embody it. One thing I especially love about Austin is the food! There’s so many “weird” and unique places to eat here and I wanted to share some of them here that you should definitely try! They may sound a little weird but we wouldn’t be doing our Austinite duty if we didn’t do our part in keeping Austin weird! Check out these unique dishes when you get the chance, you won’t be disappointed!
